The Fort Lupton service center for SPM Oil and Gas is interested in hiring 3 student interns (location is Old 85 and CR 8).  There are three areas of the facility (all indoors) that you will work in throughout this internship: service area, warehouse and administrative office.  Pay is $18/hour.  Hours determined by your school and activity schedule and runs from January till April.

Mentorship and Safety Training are part of the benefits; along with experience in a worldwide company.

Requirements for employment are: Background check, Drug Screening, Reliable transportation.  If you are interested in mechanical work this internship would be great for you!Talk with Mrs. Howell for more information Room A112

Wayne's Electric, a local company just down the road-- is now creating a 2nd and 3rd shift for high school students who are interested in working and learning the electrical trade.  Students would either work the M-F 4-8 pm shift or an 8 hour Saturday shift. (This is in addition to the 7-11 am shift we currently have 9 students placed in).  Students will need to fill out their employment application to be considered.  There are some questions on there that may be unclear to a high school students so they may need some assistance in filling them out.  Feel free to send students to my room (A112) if they need help filling it out.  This is a fabulous opportunity.  Starting pay is above $16/hour and if students have an interest in pursuing the Electrical field as a career, they have a journeyman training program that they will help workers go through, which doubles the hourly wage upon completion.   Talk with Mrs. Howell for more information Room A112

What is important about a small school setting--

A small class enables a classroom teacher to have personal contact with each student every day. "

"Levels of extracurricular participation are much higher in small schools than large ones, and students in small schools have greater satisfaction from their extracurricular participation. The single best-supported finding in the school size research, this holds true regardless of setting. Because research has identified important relationships between extracurricular participation and other desirable outcomes, such as positive attitudes and social behavior."
